    Medicated Abortion Information & Referrals

    On May 2, 2023, legislation was signed in New york city State (A1295-C/S1213-B) that needs all public colleges and universities in the SUNY and CUNY systems provide access to medication abortion. The law requires that every SUNY and CUNY school offer access to abortion medication to their student body either by employing or contracting with authorized individuals who may prescribe abortion prescription drugs, or by providing trainees with information and recommendations to suppliers authorized to prescribe abortion medication.

    Westchester Community College does not offer pre-natal care on-campus. The Health Services site will keep a list of community firms and/or providers licensed to prescribe abortion medication. Students will be referred to the Office of Accessibility Services for pregnancy or pregnancy associated lodgings.

    Allied Health Students:

    Upon admission to programs within the Health Sciences Curriculums that require medical rotations to numerous medical facilities, students will require to send documents of the outcomes of a physical exam, lab tests, and specific vaccinations to Health Services. The nurses will examine and supply clearances to those students who have actually met the requirements as stated by the New York State Department of Health for Healthcare Personnel and Clinical Affiliates. Each program (curriculum) needs the physical examination procedure be done at specific times.
